WELCOME TO SKY-HIGH RESTORATION & CONSULTING
What started out as a small residential renovation and painting company in 1990, Sky-High has evolved into a well-known Historical Restoration and Consulting business.
Along with our commercial and residential projects, we have been affectionately labelled "the Church Doctors", specializing in Church assessment, restoration and preservation.
Like churches, historical homes and aging commercial buildings are affected with the same 'ailments'. Over the past two decades, we have been called upon to help cure what ails these aging buildings and to set in place a healthy regimen of ventilation and maintenance so that we may enjoy these magnificent buildings for years to come.
Born into a farming family and raised in the Codrington area, Tom thought he would spend his life as a dairy farmer. When the family farm was sold in the late 80's, Tom's passion for history and old buildings opened the door to a new career in Historical Restoration, and he now boasts 25+ years of experience in the field.
After researching over 300 churches and historic buildings in Southern Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, Tom has now added Consultant and Author to his resume. His first book, co-authored with Peter J. Stokes, is entitled Moisture the Menace. The book outlines the havoc that internal moisture can wreak on our aging buildings.
In his spare time, Tom can be found working on his next book, Moisture the Menace II, which will examine the effects of external moisture and give further recommendations for the preservation of historical properties.
Proudly serving the Counties of York, Durham, Northumberland, Peterborough, Kawartha Lakes, Prince Edward, Hastings, Lennox & Addington and Frontenac.
