CARMAN UNITED CHURCH
In 2009, the committee for Carman Church’s Restoration Project approached us wanting to restore the exterior of the church to its original 1867 splendour. They were even able to provide us with an archived photo from 1910 for us to work from, which is pictured above.
The one thing that Tom, of Sky-High Restoration, encouraged the congregation to do, in order to achieve the originality of the church, was to custom-build and re-instate the four missing spirulets/pinnacles. The originals had been taken down in the 1930’s.
As you will see from the photos, this dramatically enhanced the entire look of the church, which sits in a beautiful countryside location, surrounded by corn fields.
Carman United was also fitted with custom-made, hand-pounded copper finials, which were designed, fabricated and installed by Sky-High Restoration.
We at Sky-High truly enjoyed the experience of working with our friends within the Brighton Township to bring this old beauty back to its former glory.
Thank you to Peter Stewart and his committee for this opportunity.
